BAD GASTEIN, Austria, July 17 (UPI) -- Patricia Mayr earned the first quarterfinal berth of her WTA Tour career Thursday at the Gastein Ladies Open.
Mayr, 21, was the only player to post a victory during a day in which rains suspended one match and postponed six others.

Mayr reached the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Sossana De Los Rios.
Top-seeded Agnes Szavay was among those who had their matches pushed back to Friday by the rains.
