MLB: LA Angels 11, Texas 10 (11 innings)

ARLINGTON, Texas, July 11 (UPI) -- Maicer Izturis drove in Garret Anderson from second with two away in the 11th Thursday, boosting the Los Angeles Angels to a bizarre 11-10 win over Texas.

Texas overcame a six-run deficit and out-hit the Angels 20-12, but stranded 14 runners and wasted big chances in both the 10th and 11th.

Anderson opened the Angels' 11th with a single off Jamey Wright (5-4), moved up on a sacrifice bunt by Reggie Willits and scored on Izturis' single up the middle.

The Angels had a 10-4 lead going into the Rangers' fifth, thanks in part to a two-run homer by Howie Kendrick. Texas deadlocked the game at 10-10 through seven, the tying runs coming on a two-run blast by Max Ramirez.

Texas put a runner on second with one away in the 10th, to no avail, and had runners on first and second with nobody out in the 11th. But Francisco Rodriguez -- who blew a save chance Wednesday for the first time this season -- turned the tide by getting Ian Kinsler to pop up on a bunt attempt.

Rodriguez claimed his 36th save of the year and allowed Justin Speier (1-4) to pick up the win.
