MLB: LA Dodgers 3, Atlanta 0

LOS ANGELES, July 8 (UPI) -- Hiroki Kuroda was perfect for seven innings but had to settle for a complete game one-hitter Monday night when the LA Dodgers beat Atlanta 3-0.

Mark Teixeira broke up Kuroda's bid for a perfect game with a double leading off the eighth inning. No other Atlanta player reached based, as Kuroda faced just 28 batters -- one over the minimum -- striking out six.

The Dodgers scored all their runs in the fifth inning when Nomar Garciaparra belted a two-run homer and Matt Kemp stroked an RBI single. LA won for the sixth time in its last seven games.

Braves starter Jorge Campillo allowed all three LA runs on just five hits over seven innings with three walks and two strikeouts.

Vladimir Nunez pitched a perfect inning of relief for Atlanta, which came into the series after having taken two out of three from Houston.
