ST. LOUIS, June 30 (UPI) -- Kyle Lohse got his seventh straight victory Monday when the St. Louis Cardinals blasted the New York Mets 7-1.
Lohse (10-2) allowed five hits and one unearned run while walking two batters in seven innings. He logged four strikeouts to remain unbeaten over his last 10 outings. He hasn't lost since May 8 at Colorado.
Mark Mulder yielded two hits and struck out a batter while pitching the ninth inning -- his first major league game of 2008. The Cardinals left-hander had surgery on his left shoulder at the end of the 2006 season and missed almost all of 2007.
Albert Pujols drove in two runs and Chris Duncan hit a two-run homer for the Cardinals. Aaron Miles extended his hitting streak to 12 games, going 3-for-5.
Loser John Maine (8-6) was charged with five runs on seven hits over four innings for New York.
