MLB: Texas 8, Philadelphia 7

ARLINGTON, Texas, June 28 (UPI) -- Milton Bradley's fifth-inning homer put Texas ahead Friday and the Rangers held on to nip Philadelphia 8-7.

Both teams scored five times in the third in a wild game that saw Josh Hamilton boost his major league RBI total to 78, despite having left the last two games in which he played with an inflamed knee and a bruised hand.

Philadelphia has lost eight out of nine. Its lead over Florida in the NL East was trimmed to one game.

Pedro Feliz hit a grand slam homer for the Phillies in the top of the third, during which they took a 5-1 lead. Hamilton started the Rangers' five-run third with an RBI single and Chris Davis finished it with a two-run homer.

Chris Coste tied it for the Phillies with a solo homer in the fourth before Bradley's 16th home run of the year gave Texas a 7-6 advantage.

Hamilton's sacrifice fly in the eighth put the Rangers in front by two.

The win went to Josh Rupe (3-1), who threw 2 1/3 innings of hitless relief. Despite giving up a ninth-inning homer, C.J. Wilson earned his 17th save.
