Kaymer builds 5-shot lead at Munich

MUNICH, Germany, June 20 (UPI) -- A sizzling 9-under-par 63 Friday gave Germany's Martin Kaymer a five-stroke lead through 36 holes of the BMW International Open golf tournament in Munich.

Kaymer's, after the best round of his career, was at 13-under 131.

The four-year European Tour player started with two birdies in his first three holes and finished a bogey-free round with three birdies in his final four holes.

"It's nice to play well in your own country," Kaymer said. "I hit a couple shots off line, but my putting was really good today."

Francois Delamontague (66) of France and England's Benn Barham (68) shared second place at 8-under 136.

First-round co-leader Mardan Mamat (71) of Singapore was among five players tied for fourth place at 7-under 137.

Defending champion Niclas Fasth (72) of Sweden was tied for 50th place at 2-under 142.
