Ferrer, ranked fifth in the world and seeded first for the Ordina, eliminated Juan Martin Del Potro in straight sets. The first set was decided in a 7-4 tiebreaker and Ferrer closed out the match strongly, taking the second set 6-1.

Gicquel, unseeded this week, upset seventh-seeded Guillermo Canas in three sets in his semifinal. Gicquel dropped the first set, evened the match by not losing a game in the second and then cashed in the lone service break of the third set to finish off a 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 victory.

Saturday will mark the 12th career title match for Ferrer, who has six championships to his credit. Gicquel is 0-2 in his career finals matches. Gicquel has won both of the previous meetings with Ferrer, although neither match was played on grass.
