MUNICH, Germany, June 19 (UPI) -- Four players shot 6-under-par 66 Thursday to share the first-round lead at the European Tour's BMW Championship in Munich, Germany.

O'Malley, the first of the four to reach the clubhouse, moved to 6-under with a birdie on the 16th hole.

"I'm just trying to manage my time better," said O'Malley, who travels constantly to see his children in Bathurst, Australia. "There's a good run of tournaments now and these are the weeks that you want to play good golf."

South Africa's Thomas Aiken could have made it a five-way tie for first, but a double-bogey at the 16th derailed his effort, and he joined five others at 5-under 66.

Six players are tied at 4-under 68.

Defending champion Niclas Fasth of Sweden opened with a 2-under 70 to join a group of 17 players at 2-under 70.
