EASTBOURNE, England, June 19 (UPI) -- Second-seeded Marion Bartoli swept into the semifinals of the $600,000 International Women's Open in England with a straight-set win Thursday.
Bartoli, in a final tuneup before Monday's start of The Championships at Wimbledon where she was runner-up last year, blitzed Alisa Kleybanova, 6-3, 6-3, in the tournament quarterfinals.
She is to face fourth-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska in Friday's semifinals. Radwanska, who needed to finish off a second-round match with Virginie Razzano before her quarterfinal, was a 7-5, 7-5 winner over Gisela Dulko in her quarterfinals.
The other two matches Thursday were also decided in straight sets with eighth-seeded Nadia Petrova topping Ekaterina Makarova, 6-4, 6-3, and Samantha Stosur beating Caroline Wozniacki, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4.
Petrova won both previous meetings with Stosur.
Friday's winners will play Saturday for the tournament title and $95,500.
