Two NHL franchises change hands

NEW YORK, June 18 (UPI) -- The National Hockey League announced Wednesday its Board of Governors had green-lighted the sale of the Edmonton and Tampa Bay franchises.

The Edmonton Oilers had been owned by a 34-member group of local investors, but were sold to Darryl Katz, a native of Alberta and owner of the Rexall pharmacy chain.
