BALTIMORE, June 18 (UPI) -- Kevin Millar singled in Melvin Mora from third with one out in the 10th inning Wednesday, delivering Baltimore a 2-1 win over Houston.
Millar's base hit ended a well-pitched games on both sides in which the only other runs came on seventh-inning homers from Houston's Lance Berkman, his 20th, and Baltimore's Luke Scott, his 12th.
With Jose Valverde (4-2) on the mound in the 10th, Mora reached on a one-out single and moved to third on a base hit by Aubrey Huff. Millar then stroke a 1-2 pitch up the middle for the game-winning single.
Chad Bradford (3-2), who pitched two innings in relief of Jeremy Guthrie, picked up the win. Guthrie held the Astros to three hits and a run over eight innings with eight strikeouts and a walk.
Baltimore has won the first two games of the series and four of five overall. Houston has lost seven in a row and 16 of 19.
The Orioles improved to 17-10 in one-run games this season after going 13-31 last year.
