SEATTLE, June 15 (UPI) -- Jose Flores hit a two-run homer and had three RBI Saturday to lead the Washington Nationals to a 5-2 victory at Seattle.
Flores hit an RBI single in the top of the first inning, and his two-run seventh-inning homer snapped a 2-2 tie, putting Washington ahead for good.
Both Ronny Belliard and Jose Lopez hit RBI doubles, while a total of five players had two hits apiece for the Nationals, who won for just the third time in their last nine contests.
Winner Tyler Clippard (1-1) gave up two earned runs and seven hits in six innings.
Closer John Rauch followed two other relievers to record his 15th save this season.
Seattle scored on fourth-inning solo homers by Jose Vidro and Adrian Beltre. A total of seven players had one hit each for the Mariners, who have split their last four games.
The losing pitcher was reliever Miguel Bautista (3-8).
