MLB: Cleveland 7, San Diego 3

CLEVELAND, June 15 (UPI) -- Ben Francisco's three-run, third-inning homer Sunday helped the Cleveland Indians beat San Diego 7-3.

Francisco's fourth homer this season was trumped by San Diego's game-tying three-run rally in the top of the fourth against winning pitcher C.C. Sabathia, but four Cleveland players later knocked in one run each, including Grady Sizemore, whose 17th homer this season was a solo blast in the bottom of the seventh.

Four players had two hits for the Indians, who have won five times in their last seven games.

Sabathia (5-8) surrendered three earned runs and six hits in eight innings with a walk and 10 strikeouts.

Three players had one RBI and Khalil Greene had two of the six hits for the Padres, who lost twice in the three-game series.

Losing pitcher Greg Maddux (3-5) gave up five runs -- two earned -- and eight hits in six innings.

San Diego right-fielder Paul McAnulty suffered a back injury while chasing down a first-inning fly ball.
