MLB: Atlanta 5, LA Angels 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 14 (UPI) -- Jo-Jo Reyes allowed five hits over eight innings Friday and carried the Atlanta Braves to a rare road win -- 5-2 over the Los Angeles Angels.

Atlanta won for just the eighth time in 32 road contests this year and cooled off the Angels, who had won nine out of 11 and have captured eight consecutive series.

Reyes (3-4) struck out five and walked two while getting the benefit of a 15-hit attack.

Gregor Blanco singled in a run for the Braves in the fourth and doubled in two more in the sixth.

Jeff Bennett gave up two hits in the ninth, but still picked up his second save.

The loss went to Jon Garland (6-4), who gave up five runs on 12 hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Atlanta overcame a 2-1 deficit in the sixth to take the lead for good. Jeff Francoeur reached on an infield single, Brandon Jones walked and the runners moved up on a sacrifice.

Blanco then singled home the tying and go-ahead runs.
