MLB: Chi. Cubs 3, Atlanta 2 (11 inn.)

CHICAGO, June 12 (UPI) -- Reed Johnson drove in the winning run Thursday when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the 11th inning and the Chicago Cubs edged Atlanta 3-2.

The Cubs' dramatic victory was set up by Jim Edmonds' game-tying solo home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth.

Edmonds also hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh.

Geovany Soto had three hits for the National League Central-leading Cubs, who swept the three-game series at Wrigley Field.

The winner was closer Kerry Wood (3-1).

Atlanta scored on Jeff Francoeur's two-run homer in the second.

Kelly Johnson had three hits and both Francoeur and Brian McCann had two hits for the Braves, who have lost six straight games.

The losing pitcher was Manny Acosta (3-5).

Atlanta's road record sank to 7-24.

Chicago placed left-fielder Alfonso Soriano on the 15-day disabled list because of a fractured finger on his left hand.
