CHICAGO, June 11 (UPI) -- The Chicago Cubs announced Wednesday left fielder Alfonso Soriano would be out of action for about six weeks with a fractured finger on his left hand.
Soriano suffered the injury when he was hit by a pitch during the second inning of Wednesday's victory over Atlanta.

He was on the disabled list previously this season with a strained right calf. Soriano, who bats at the top of the Cubs' order, is hitting .283 with 15 homers and 40 RBI.
