MLB: Philadelphia 6, Atlanta 2

ATLANTA, June 7 (UPI) -- Carlos Ruiz, Pat Burrell and Jimmy Rollins homered Saturday to boost the Philadelphia Phillies over Atlanta 6-2.

Ruiz opened the scoring with a solo homer in the top of the fifth inning. Burrell made Philadelphia's lead 2-0 with a solo shot in the sixth.

In the eighth, Chase Utley and Ryan Howard both knocked in one run before Rollins' two-run homer in the ninth capped the scoring.

Three players had two hits each for the Phillies, whose record rose to 14-4 in their last 18 road games.

The winner was reliever J.C. Romero (4-1). He faced only two batters in the seventh.

Atlanta's Chipper Jones stroked a two-run homer in the sixth to create a 2-2 tie. Jeff Francoeur had two of the five hits for the Braves, who have dropped three of four.

Losing pitcher Jo-Jo Reyes (2-4) surrendered four earned runs and seven hits in 7 1/3 innings with two walks and eight strikeouts.
