PITTSBURGH, June 6 (UPI) -- Brandon Webb gave up an earned run and just three hits in six innings Friday, leading the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 3-1 victory at Pittsburgh.
The ace right-hander became the first 11-game winner this major league season and carried a no-hitter into the bottom of the fifth.
Webb (11-2) helped his cause with an RBI single in the sixth.
Pittsburgh scored on Jason Bay's sixth-inning double. Freddy Sanchez had one run and two hits for the Pirates, who had won two in a row.
Losing pitcher Ian Snell (2-6) was charged with two runs -- one earned -- and five hits in five innings with three walks and nine strikeouts.
