LOS ANGELES, June 6 (UPI) -- Kosuke Fukudome singled in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning Thursday, boosting the Chicago Cubs past the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4.
After halting a nine-game winning streak Wednesday in San Diego, the Cubs won again despite blowing a 4-0 lead.
Kent homered in the sixth to bring the Dodgers within one and then hit another solo blast in the eighth to tie it.
He swung and missed at Saito's first two offerings before working the count to 2-2 and then delivering a single to right that brought in Theriot.
Bob Howry (2-2) got the win with an inning of relief and Wood made his 17th save a dramatic one.
Wood gave up a leadoff double, struck out two batters, hit one with a pitch and walked another to load the bases before striking out Kemp swinging on a 2-2 pitch.
