MLB: Colorado 2, LA Dodgers 1

LOS ANGELES, June 4 (UPI) -- Jeff Baker's two-run second inning homer Wednesday gave Colorado a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The right-fielder's first homer this season made him one of eight players with one hit for the Rockies, who won the last two contests in the three-game series and won a road series for the first time since April 18-20 at Houston.

Winner Aaron Cook (8-3) surrendered an earned run and six hits in eight innings with one walk and six strikeouts.

Closer Brian Fuentes earned his eighth save this season with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Los Angeles' run scored on Matt Kemp's sixth inning single.

Kemp was one of six players with one hit for the Dodgers, who have dropped eight of 10.

Losing pitcher Clayton Kershaw (0-1), making his third major league start, gave up two earned runs and five hits in five innings.

In relief, former Dodger starter Chan Ho Park gave up two hits in three scoreless innings with six strikeouts.
