MLB: LA Angels 4, Seattle 2

SEATTLE, June 3 (UPI) -- Ervin Santana limited Seattle to two runs over 7 2/3 innings and Francisco Rodriquez shut the door in the ninth Monday for a 4-2 Los Angeles Angels victory.

Jeff Mathis provided the offensive punch with a two-run homer. Casey Kotchman went 3-for-4 and scored twice for the Angels, who have won three in a row.

Santana improved to 8-2 by scattering six hits and one walk. He struck out three Mariners. Rodriquez pitched a perfect ninth for his 22 save.

Seattle got a homer from Jose Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Mariners starter Jarrod Washburn (2-7) allowed all four runs on nine hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings as Seattle fell for the third time in four games.
