Scott Strange an easy Wales Open winner

NEWPORT, Wales, June 1 (UPI) -- Australian Scott Strange shot a closing 7-under-par 64 Sunday, making him a wire-to-wire winner at the Wales Open golf tournament in Newport, Wales.

Strange's 72-hole total, 22-under 262 was four strokes better than runner-up Robert Karlsson of Sweden. That made him the fifth player this season on the European Tour to lead after all four rounds.

He had to overcome a bout with dizzy spells Saturday.

"I'm going to stay the night and have a couple of drinks," he said after his first win on the European Tour. "I played great out there and I am delighted to have won."

Karlsson (64) finished at 18-under 266.

France's Raphael Jacquelin (68) was third at 14-under 270 and five players shared fourth place at 13-under 271.
