ARLINGTON, Texas, June 1 (UPI) -- Josh Hamilton's two-run fifth-inning homer Saturday helped the Texas Rangers beat Oakland 8-4.
Texas was leading 4-3 when Hamilton launched his 14th homer this season with none out in the fifth to cap a three-run outburst. He also hit an RBI groundout in the first.
Ian Kinsler had three hits and two RBI. Three players drove in one run each while both Michael Young and Frank Catalanotto added three hits apiece for the Rangers, who finished the month of May with 19 wins in 29 games to crack the .500 mark for the first time this season.
The winner was starter Sidney Ponson (4-1).
Losing pitcher Joe Blanton (3-7) gave up six earned runs and 10 hits in six innings.
