WEST DES MOINES, Iowa, June 1 (UPI) -- Jay Haas came from behind with a 6-under-par 65 and won the Principal Charity Classic in Iowa Sunday -- his second straight Champions Tour victory.
Haas, winner of the Senior PGA Championship last week, totaled 10-under 203, one shot better than runner-up Andy Bean, who closed with a 67 for 204.
Nick Price, who led entering the final round, carded a 69 and finished third at 205.
"I thought I'd need ... at least 65 or even lower," Haas said. "I thought it was a pretty good day to score. There wasn't much wind. I thought someone ahead of me might go nuts."
Haas won $258,750, moving him to the top of the tour money list.
Joey Sindelar was alone in fourth at 7-under 206 and seven players tied for fifth at 207 -- John Cook, Tom Purtzer, John Morse, Loren Roberts, Bobby Wadkins, Ron Streck and Kirk Hanefeld.
