TORONTO, May 31 (UPI) -- Rookie Julius James scored in his first Major League Soccer match Saturday to help Toronto FC post a 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Jeff Cunningham got Toronto's other goal, his 98th career,and rookie goalie Brian Edwards earned his first shutout as Toronto FC remained undefeated at home.

Toronto (5-3-2) got its fifth shutout in its last seven games and improved to 5-1-2 in its last eight games.

L.A. (4-4-2) was playing without stars David Beckham and Landon Donovan and was shutout for just the second time this season.
