MLB: Boston 6, Baltimore 3

BALTIMORE, May 31 (UPI) -- Manny Ramirez hit his 500th career home run Saturday to help the Boston Red Sox record a 6-3 win at Baltimore.

Ramirez became the 24th MLB player to reach the 500-homer plateau with a two-run blast in the top of the seventh inning.

Boston's Dustin Pedroia and David Ortiz hit back-to-back solo homers in the third. Jason Varitek had three hits and one RBI while Pedroia had two hits for the Red Sox, who have won the first two contests in the four-game series at Camden Yards.

The winner was reliever David Aardsma (2-1), the second of four Boston pitchers.

Closer Jonathan Papelbon earned his 16th save.

Baltimore got one RBI apiece from three players, including Brian Roberts, who hit a solo homer in the fifth.

Nick Markakis and Ramon Hernandez had two hits each for the Orioles, who have dropped three in a row.

The losing pitcher was reliever Lance Cormier (0-2).
