MLB: Chi. Cubs 2, LA Dodgers 1 (10 inn.)

CHICAGO, May 29 (UPI) -- Alfonso Soriano singled home Mike Fontenot from second in the 10th inning Wednesday, delivering the Chicago Cubs a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Cubs trailed going into the ninth, but tied it with a run off Takashi Saito and then produced the game-winner against Chan Ho Park. Los Angeles has lost five out of six.

Derek Lowe allowed four hits over seven innings and Jonathan Broxton worked a perfect eighth, allowing the Dodgers to take a 1-0 lead into the ninth.

But Saito walked Ryan Theriot to start the inning, Aramis Ramirez walked one out later and Kosuke Fukudome reached on an infield single to load the bases. Geovany Soto then drove in the tying run with a sacrifice fly to right.

The Cubs' Bob Howry (1-0) worked around a lead-off single in the 10th and became the winning pitcher when Chicago came through against Park (1-1).

Reed Johnson flew out to start the Chicago half of the inning, but pinch-hitter Mike Fontenot doubled to deep left. Soriano hit a 2-2 pitch to left for a single that brought in Fontenot.
