PITTSBURGH, May 25 (UPI) -- Jason Bay's RBI single in the bottom of the 14th inning Saturday boosted the Pittsburgh Pirates past the Chicago Cubs 5-4.
Pittsburgh tied the contest 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Luis Rivas.
Bay had two hits, one a two-run homer in the fourth, and finished with three RBI. Jason Michaels added two hits and one RBI.
Adam LaRoche had two hits and five others had one each for the Pirates, who had lost nine of their previous 10 games against NL Central Division rivals.
After three scoreless relief innings, the winner was John Grabow (4-1), the last of six Pittsburgh pitchers.
Fukudome and Geovany Soto had two hits apiece for the Cubs, who have dropped three of four.
The losing pitcher was Michael Wuertz (0-1).
