MLB: Tampa Bay 3, Oakland 2

OAKLAND, Calif., May 21 (UPI) -- Emil Brown's error on Dioner Navarro's eighth-inning line drive let three runs score, allowing Tampa Bay to escape with a 3-2 win over Oakland Tuesday.

Scott Kazmir gave up one run on four hits and a walk, and struck out eight over seven innings to improve to 3-1. Troy Percival earned his 13th save despite allowing a run.

B.J. Upton got two of the Rays' six hits.

Greg Smith (2-4) was tagged with the loss after giving up two unearned runs in seven-plus innings as Oakland lost for the third straight time and seventh time in eight tries.

Frank Thomas hit a solo home run for Oakland and Rajai Davis added an RBI single.
