PHOENIX, May 18 (UPI) -- Matt Joyce's seventh-inning solo homer produced the winning run Saturday in the Detroit Tigers' 3-2 victory at Arizona.
Joyce's fourth homer this season provided insurance because Arizona scored twice in the bottom of the seventh on Chris Snyder's sacrifice fly and Miguel Montero's RBI single to come within the final score.
Winner Armando Galarraga (3-1) yielded two earned runs and just one hit in six-plus innings with five walks and three strikeouts.
Closer Todd Jones earned his sixth save.
Orlando Hudson had the third hit for the Diamondbacks, who had won four in a row.
Losing pitcher Max Scherzer (0-2) surrendered two runs and three hits in five innings with four walks and five strikeouts.
