MLB: Florida 7, Kansas City 3

MIAMI, May 17 (UPI) -- Wes Helms and Mike Jacobs combined for five RBI with seventh inning homers Saturday to boost the Florida Marlins over Kansas City 7-3.

With Florida trailing 3-2, Helms belted a three-run homer with no out, his third round-tripper this season.

Jacobs hit an RBI triple in the fourth and added a two-run homer in the seventh. Jorge Cantu had two hits and one RBI and Luis Gonzalez had a run and two hits for the Marlins, who broke a four-game losing streak.

Winner Logan Kensing (3-0) pitched a scoreless seventh in relief of starter Scott Olsen.

Kansas City's Jose Guillen hit a two-run double in the third. Billy Butler hit an RBI double in the fifth.

Mark Grudzielanek had three hits and scored two runs while Alex Gordon added two hits for the Royals, who had won five in a row.

Losing pitcher Brian Bannister (4-5) gave up six earned runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings with two walks and five strikeouts.
