MLB: Atlanta 3, Oakland 2

ATLANTA, May 16 (UPI) -- A two-out double by Mark Kotsay in the eighth drove in the go-ahead run Friday, giving the Atlanta Braves a 3-2 victory over Oakland.

The Braves came back from a 2-0 deficit to hand the Athletics their sixth loss in seven games.

With Alan Embree (1-2) on the mound for Oakland in the eighth, Chipper Jones opened the inning with a single. Mark Teixeira then flew out and Jeff Francoeur struck out before Brian McCann singled Jones to third.

That brought up Kotsay, who doubled home Jones on an 0-1 pitch.

Manny Acosta (2-1) got the win by working the final two innings, allowing a hit and striking out one.

Francoeur singled in Omar Infante in the sixth and then came in on a double by McCann to tie the game.

The Braves, who won only four inter-league contests last season, opened an 11-game homestand after suffering through a 2-5 road trip.
