KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 11 (UPI) -- Kevin Millar's three-run homer Saturday in a game delayed almost two hours by rain, keyed the Baltimore Orioles' 6-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals.
Millar finished 3-for-4 on the evening, which included the one hour, 52-minute delay after the top of the first inning. Luis Hernandez and Melvin Mora added two hits each for Baltimore, which has won three straight after losing five in a row.
Baltimore starter Garrett Olson (2-0) picked up the win, allowing three runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings. George Sherrill earned his 13th save despite giving up a run in the ninth.
David DeJesus tripled and scored twice for the Royals, who have lost five of their last six. Esteban German had a pair of RBI, and Billy Butler scored once and had one RBI.
Brett Tomko (1-4) was the loser, coughing up six runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out eight.
Baltimore built a 6-1 lead before the Royals staged a comeback that came up a run short.
