MLB: Philadelphia 5, Arizona 4

PHOENIX, May 8 (UPI) -- Philadelphia staged three comebacks Wednesday with Chase Utley singling in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning to down Arizona 5-4.

The Phillies overcame an early 1-0 deficit, then rallied from two runs down when Pedro Feliz hit a two-run shot in the seventh.

Arizona went back in front in the bottom of the seventh on Conor Jackson's RBI double, but Philadelphia came up with two runs in the eighth thanks in part to a fluke play that led off the inning.

With Chad Qualls (0-3) on the mound, Shane Victorino swung and missed on a 2-2 count, but the ball got away from catcher Chris Snyder and Victorino was able to reach first on what was ruled to be a wild pitch.

Victorino promptly scored on a double by Eric Bruntlett, who then scored on Utley's single to center.

The third rally of the game made a winner out of J.C. Romero (3-0), who retired the final two men in the bottom of the seventh. Brad Lidge worked the ninth for his eighth save.
