MLB: Houston 4, Washington 3

HOUSTON, May 8 (UPI) -- Carlos Lee singled in Kazuo Matsui from third with one out in the ninth Wednesday, giving Houston a 4-3 decision over Washington.

The Astros won their fifth straight, overcoming a two home-run game by Ryan Zimmerman.

With Joel Harahan (0-2) on the mound to start the ninth, Matsui drew a lead-off walk. Matsui stole second and after Miguel Tejada struck out, Lance Berkman was walked intentionally.

Jesus Colome replaced Harahan and faced Lee. Colome threw a wild pitch that allowed Matsui to go to third, from where he scored on Lee's single to shallow center.

That made a winner out of Jose Valverde (4-1), who worked a perfect top of the ninth.

Zimmerman hit a two-run homer in the first and had a solo shot in the sixth that tied the game at 3-3.
