MLB: Boston 6, Detroit 3

DETROIT, May 5 (UPI) -- Mike Lowell, Kevin Youkilis and David Ortiz all homered Monday in the Boston Red Sox's 6-3 win over the Detroit Tigers.

Lowell's two-run homer was his first this season. He also had a double and a single. Youkilis added a two-run shot, while Ortiz had an RBI single in addition to his solo homer for the Red Sox, who have won four straight games.

Daisuke Matsuzaka (5-0) remained perfect on the year by allowing two hits and one run over five innings, but walked a career-high eight batters. Jonathan Papelbon pitched a scoreless ninth for his 10th save.

Marcus Thames had a two-run single and Curtis Granderson added an RBI hit for the Tigers, who have lost four games in a row.

Jeremy Bonderman (2-3) allowed seven hits and four runs over six innings in the loss.
