MLB: San Diego 4, Philadelphia 2

PHILADELPHIA, May 1 (UPI) -- San Diego starter Chris Young gave up two runs over six innings and the Padres' bullpen mopped up in a 4-2 victory Wednesday over the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Padres' Tadahito Iguchi went 4-for-5, scored once and knocked in a run against his former teammates. Adrian Gonzalez hit a two-run homer and Kevin Kouzmanoff added a solo shot in the victory.

Young (2-2) gave up five hits and three walks while striking out six. Relievers Joe Thatcher, Heath Bell and Trevor Hoffman each added a scoreless inning for San Diego, which is still just 2-7 in its last nine games.

Jamie Moyer (1-2) was the loser for the Phillies, giving up four runs on nine hits and a walk in 5 1/3.

Chase Utley's two-run homer accounted for Philadelphia's runs. The Phillies are 2-4 in their last six.
