LOS ANGELES, May 1 (UPI) -- Ervin Santana continued his strong start to the year Wednesday by giving up a run over 6 1/3 innings in leading the Los Angeles Angels past Oakland 6-1.
Santana gave up four hits and struck out three while improving his record to 5-0.

Casey Kotchman drove in three runs with a pair of doubles to help the Angels win for the sixth time in eight games.
Dane Eveland (3-2) was charged with the loss, having given up six runs on seven hits in 5 1/3.
Kotchman doubled home two runs in the second and he delivered another score with a double as part of a three-run sixth.
