MLB: Washington 6, Atlanta 3

WASHINGTON, April 29 (UPI) -- Ryan Zimmerman went 3-for-4 with a home run and three runs batted in Tuesday, boosting the Washington Nationals to a 6-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves.

Zimmerman had a two-run double in the seventh inning when the Nationals scored four runs. Nick Johnson also homered for the Nationals, who have won four of their last five games. Lastings Milledge added a two-run double.

Saul Rivera (2-1) earned the win with a scoreless inning in relief of starter Tim Redding, who allowed two runs on four hits over six innings.

Chipper Jones had two hits, including a home run, for the Braves, who have lost four straight. Mark Teixeria doubled and scored and Mark Kotsay and Kelly Johnson each drove in a run.

Blaine Boyer (0-3) took the loss after allowing four runs on three hits in one-third of an inning in relief of Tom Glavine. Glavine gave up two runs on six hits over six innings after being activated from the 15-day disabled list before the game.
