MLB: Oakland 14, LA Angels 2

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 29 (UPI) -- Daric Barton and Emil Brown both homered and drove in three runs Monday night to lead the Oakland Athletics to a 14-2 pounding of the Los Angeles Angels.

Frank Thomas had a triple, a double and a single and drove in two for the A's, who have won five of their last six games. Rajai Davis and Ryan Sweeney drove in two runs apiece and Jack Hannahan homered for Oakland.

Chad Gaudin (3-1) went six innings, yielding two runs on five hits and two walks.

Oakland relievers Dallas Braden and Andrew Brown threw three scoreless innings in relief.

Mike Napoli had a solo homer and Robb Quinlan drove in a run for the Angels in their first game at home following a road trip in which they finished with four wins in six games against Boston and Detroit.

Starter Jon Garland (3-3) yielded seven runs on 10 hits and three walks in six-plus innings. Chris Bootcheck came on in the seventh and was lit up for seven runs on six hits and three walks.
