Scott wins with 48-foot putt in playoff

IRVING, Texas, April 27 (UPI) -- Adam Scott sank a 48-foot birdie putt on the third hole of a playoff with Ryan Moore Sunday and won the Byron Nelson Championship -- his sixth PGA Tour title.

"I got away with one, I think, today," Scott said.

After Scott's birdie putt dropped, Moore, seeking his first win on the tour, barely missed an 18-footer to tie, the ball sliding by the left edge of the cup.

Scott shot a 71 and Moore a 68 in the final round to finish regulation play at 7-under-par 273.

The runner-up finish was Moore's fourth on the tour.

"A loss is a loss, but I tied for first at the end of the day," Moore said. "That's better than I've ever done."

Bart Bryant (72) finished third at 277 and Nicholas Thompson (67), Mark Hensby (69) and Carl Pettersson (69) shared fourth at 278.
