Quarterbacks highlight Day 2 of NFL draft

NEW YORK, April 27 (UPI) -- Quarterbacks John David Booty and Colt Brennan were the highlight picks Sunday on Day 2 of the 2008 NFL draft in New York.

Brennan, who set 31 NCAA passing records at Hawaii, was chosen by the Washington Redskins in the middle of the sixth round.

Booty, who led the USC Trojans to the Pac-10 title and a Rose Bowl win in 2007, was tabbed by the Minnesota Vikings with the second pick of the fifth round (137th overall).

Other high-profile players chosen Sunday included Kentucky quarterback Andre Woodson by the Super Bowl champion New York Giants, Michigan running back Mike Hart by the Indianapolis Colts, and Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

USC led all schools with 10 players taken in the two days of the draft -- seven in the first two rounds -- while LSU had seven players drafted off its national championship team.
