MLB: Oakland 4, Seattle 2

SEATTLE, April 27 (UPI) -- Emil Brown's two-run single in the top of the eighth inning Sunday spurred the Oakland Athletics' come-from-behind 4-2 win at Seattle.

Oakland trailed 2-0 with no outs and the bases loaded when Brown's second hit of the contest created a 2-2 tie. The eventual winning run scored on Jack Cust's single, and Ryan Sweeney added an RBI single.

Brown and Mark Ellis had two hits apiece for the Athletics, who have won seven of their last nine games.

Winner Joe Blanton (2-4) yielded two earned runs and eight hits in seven innings.

Santiago Casilla worked a scoreless eighth while closer Huston Street pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to earn his eighth save this season.

Seattle got Adrian Beltre's RBI single in the first and Yuniesky Betancourt's solo homer in the fourth.

A total of eight players had one hit for the Mariners, who have dropped four of their last five contests.

The losing pitcher was starter Felix Hernandez (2-1).
