NEW YORK, April 27 (UPI) -- Carlos Delgado bashed two solo home runs and Raul Casanova hit a two-run shot Sunday, carrying the New York Mets past Atlanta 6-3.
Casanova's blast, in the second inning, and Delgado's first homer, in the third, came off veteran Braves starter John Smoltz (3-2), who gave up four runs in four innings and took the loss.
Delgado's homer in the seventh completed the scoring.
Luis Castillo contributed three hits and scored a run for the Mets, who have won three of their last five games.
Nelson Figueroa (2-1) pitched 5 1/3 innings for the win, allowing three runs and seven hits.
Mark Teixeira hit two doubles and drove in a run for the Braves in their fourth loss in six games.
