SEATTLE, April 24 (UPI) -- A solo homer by Nick Markakis in the eighth put Baltimore in front Wednesday and the Orioles held on to defeat Seattle 3-2.
Baltimore rallied from a two-run deficit to halt a two-game skid. Seattle had won its previous two games.
Seattle held a 2-0 lead into the sixth, but Melvin Mora tripled in a run in that inning and then scored on a groundout by Markakis.
That made a winner out of Daniel Cabrera (2-0), who gave up five hits and struck out five over eight innings.
George Sherrill gave up a lead-off single in the ninth, but nothing more in earning his ninth save.
