DENVER, April 23 (UPI) -- Pat Burrell's bases-clearing double in the ninth inning Tuesday, propelled the Philadelphia Phillies to an 8-6 win over the Colorado Rockies.
Trying to protect a 6-5 lead, Rockies closer Manny Corpas gave up singles to So Taguchi and Chase Utley on either side of a Jayson Werth strikeout and then intentionally walked Ryan Howard before surrendering the game-winning double to Burrell.
The Phillies' Brad Lidge, who hasn't given up a run in nine innings, closed out the ninth for his fourth save.
Utley finished 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBI for Philadelphia, which won its third straight. Werth homered and scored a pair of runs. Taguchi and Greg Dobbs each added an RBI.
Corpas (0-1) took both the blown save and the loss for the Rockies. Starter Jeff Francis gave up four runs on six hits and four walks in seven innings.
