DENVER, April 22 (UPI) -- Pat Burrell had three hits, including a two-run homer, and the Philadelphia Phillies pounded out 13 hits Monday night to beat Colorado 9-5.
Burrell, Jayson Werth, T.J. Bohn and Carlos Ruiz each drove in a pair of runs for Philadelphia, which has won two straight games. Werth had an inside-the-park homer and Chase Utley had a solo shot for the Phillies, extending his home run streak to five games.
Taylor Buchholz (1-1) yielded two runs on two hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings of relief to take the loss. Rockies starter Mark Redman gave up four runs on six hits, with five strikeouts and no walks in five-plus innings.
Ruiz's two-run double in the eighth put the Phillies ahead to stay.
