TORONTO, April 20 (UPI) -- David Eckstein's three-run homer was the big hit Sunday in the Toronto Blue Jays' 5-3 victory against the Detroit Tigers.
The contest was tied 2-2 in the bottom of the second inning after John McDonald's RBI single.
Eckstein then hit his first round-tripper this season with two outs to cap the four-run outburst.
Alex Rios also had one RBI, while Eckstein, Gregg Zaun and Aaron Hill all had two hits for the Blue Jays, who had broken a six-game home losing streak Saturday.
Winner A.J. Burnett (2-1) escaped after issuing a season-high six walks. He surrendered three earned runs and four hits in five innings.
Reliever Jeremy Accardo earned his fourth save.
Detroit's Clete Thomas had three hits, one a two-run single in the fourth.
Miguel Cabrera drove in a run for the Tigers, who have lost three of their last four games.
Losing pitcher Nate Robertson (0-2) allowed five earned runs and eight hits in five innings with a walk and five strikeouts.
