MLB: Tampa Bay 5, Chi. White Sox 0

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., April 19 (UPI) -- Andy Sonnanstine hurled a complete game three-hit shutout Saturday in the Tampa Bay Rays' 5-0 victory against the Chicago White Sox.

All the White Sox hits were singles.

In his first-ever complete game, the right-hander walked one batter, struck out four, didn't allow a runner past second base and improved his record this season to 2-0.

Eric Hinske, Jason Bartlett and Akinori Iwamura all hit RBI singles in the bottom of the second inning. B.J. Upton had three hits and one RBI.

Shawn Riggans hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth, while both Carl Crawford and Carlos Pena had two hits for the Rays, who have won two of three.

Three players had one hit each for the White Sox, who never mounted a scoring chance in their second loss in three games.

Losing pitcher Mark Buehrle (1-2) surrendered five earned runs and 12 hits in seven innings, with two walks and five strikeouts.
