ST. LOUIS, April 19 (UPI) -- Tim Lincecum got help from three relievers on a seven-hit shutout Saturday when the San Francisco Giants beat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-0.
Jose Castillo had two hits, one an RBI double in the top of the third inning. Aaron Rowand hit a solo homer in the fourth and an RBI single in the sixth.
Rowand and Castillo combined for five of the nine hits for the Giants, who broke a three-game losing streak.
Lincecum (3-0) gave up six hits in seven scoreless innings with three walks and five strikeouts.
Jack Taschner and Tyler Walker combined for a scoreless eighth and Brian Wilson earned his fifth save.
St. Louis got two hits each from Skip Schumaker and Adam Kennedy.
Losing pitcher Joel Pineiro (0-2) yielded three earned runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings.
